Peixuan Ouyang is interested in how images infiltrate and mediate everyday life, and how we negotiate the world and connect with one another through these images. Working primarily with time-based media such as film, video, and installation, Peixuan also creates prints and artist books that hold images in tactile, intimate forms.
Shifting between these forms, Peixuan’s projects investigate the intersection of monumentality and the absurdity of living, exploring the complexities of globalization, migration, and the human body across physical and digital worlds. Their practice juxtaposes the enduring force of images with the material conditions of lived experience. Occasionally, Peixuan also curates.
