Peixuan Ouyang is interested in how images infiltrate and mediate everyday life, and how humans negotiate with the world and connect with each other through images. Peixuan’s projects primarily live through light and sometimes land on tangible surfaces, whether as film, video, prints, books, installations, or a combination thereof. Many projects explore the intersections of monumentality, globalization, and the absurdity of living. Peixuan attempts to juxtapose the enduring legacy of creations with the transient experiences of life, celebrating the inevitable passage of time and the contrast between grandeur and human limitations.
