In 1945, when it was deemed safe enough after the German invasion, the Soviet Union undertook a mission called "Object No. 1" to move Lenin's body from Siberia back into his mausoleum in Moscow.
Object No.1 is an attempt to examine the practice of preserving and displaying the bodies of leaders in socialist countries.
